Melissa Littlefield, MS, PT

Melissa Littlefield, MS, PT, is the sole owner and founder for Littlefield Physical Therapy, Inc. She has dedicated her 16 year career as a physical therapist toward Pediatric and Neurologically impaired clients. Melissa has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, and PhD course work in State University of New York at Buffalo’s School of Medicine’s Epidemiology Department and plans to earn her PhD in the future. Melissa has advanced training in assistive technology and adaptive equipment from the State University of New York at Buffalo. As a faculty member at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York, Melissa has instructed Master and Doctoral candidates. She is a life long member of theAmerican Physical Therapy Association and is a member of the Pediatric and Neurology Sections. She has extensive experience in school based interventions and is committed to supporting students and staff in maintaining safety while maximizing function and knowledge. She attained certification from NARHA North American Riding for the Handicapped Association over 10 years ago. Melissa is honored to have touched and been included in so many lives. Rachel Carpenter, MS, PT

Rachel Carpenter received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees from Boston University. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is licensed through the State of California Physical Therapy Board. Additionally she is a Certified Educator of Infant Massage through the International Association of Infant Massage.

Rachel has experience in a variety of settings including both inpatient and outpatient settings, early intervention within the home for children 0-3 years old, and school based physical therapy.

Rachel began her physical therapy career by traveling to Africa to do volunteer work in a small village with adults with Spinal Cord Injuries and children with various orthopedic and neurological impairments. She specialized in creating homemade seating systems for children with cerebral palsy and other diagnosis that required use of a wheelchair. Upon relocating in the United States she moved to California where she has worked in Los Angeles and San Diego prior to settling in Temecula.

Rachel believes that every child should be treated as if they were her own. She specializes in working with children from birth through their teen years with extensive experience with neurological impairments.

Mary Mertz, MS, PT

Mary Mertz is a staff physical therapist. She has worked as a physical therapist for over 6 years. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master in Physical Therapy Degrees from Loma Linda University. She first became interested in physical therapy when her daughter was born premature and received therapy in the hospital. While attending Loma Linda, she chose half of her affiliations in a pediatric environment and volunteered for the Challenger Little League. Since graduation, she has focused on Neurological and pediatric therapy in an in-patient and out-patient setting and has volunteered with the Special Olympics in San Diego. Her motto is: Do what ever it takes.
